In soap making, it can be added to cooled lye water in CP soaps or 3-5% of oils weight in HP soaps. The ingredients include sodium lactate and water, and it is available as a 50% solution.

In addition to its moisturising properties, it is commonly used in soap making to help harden the soap. A harder bar means the soap can be unmolded quicker (saving you time), and it lasts longer (making customers happy).
